The sixth annual international conference on Anglophone Studies, From Theory to Practice 2014, was hosted on September 4-5 by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Tomas Bata University in Zlín. The 54 participants (including 15 foreign),representing 9 countries, presented papers and held discussions in sections on Linguistics, Literature, and Cultural Studies. The keynote speeches were delivered by Šárka Bubíková from the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic, and Martin Reisigl fromthe University of Bern, Switzerland. The conference helped to establish new forms of cooperation between the participating universities and to the development and internationalization of the organizing institution.
