The eighth annual international conference on Anglophone Studies, From Theory to Practice 2016, was hosted on September 8-9 by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Tomas Bata University in Zlín. The 51 participants (including 12 foreign), representing 8 countries, presented papers and held discussions in sections on Linguistics, Literature, and Cultural Studies. The keynote speeches were delivered by Christopher William Phillips from the University of Cincinnati, USA. The conference helped to establish new forms of cooperation between the participating universities and to the development and internationalization of the organizing institution.
