Original language description
This contribution is devoted to education for performing the paramedical health care profession of health social worker at Tomas Bata University in Zlín (Czech Republic), a profession which provides medical social care, which is an integral part of comprehensive patient or client care. Today’s concept of comprehensive care within the health sector also include social work, meaning that the medical and social spheres are closely connected and cannot be separated. A medical social worker is an integral part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team and is actively involved in the providing of comprehensive care.
