The Contribution of the Applied Bachelor's Thesis for the Didactic Thinking of Future Preschool Teachers.
Original language description
This study focuses on a topic which relates to the professionalisation of preschool teachers. The issue investigated looks at whether and to what extent the preschool teacher should be strengthened in research and/or didactic competencies. This discussion also looks at the standards of training future teachers. Although pedagogical and didactic competence is a part of all models of teacher competencies in general, most research theses remain as a part of bachelor's study. Applied theses as a specific type of final thesis within bachelor's study have been written since 2013 at the faculty where the authors of this paper work and where courses for preschool teachers have been run for a long time. This study is part of a project that aims to determine whether and how this type of thesis can support the professionalisation of teachers and, at the same time, contribute towards desired changes in the preschool curriculum. Within applied theses, the student proves his or her ability to design and verify a project, programme, or set of activities within the practice of a preschool institution. An important aspect of the quality of the thesis which is monitored is the connection between basic theory, didactic strategy, and an evaluation of originally designed activities for preschool children.
