The cryogels have interesting properties, such as high specific surface area and porosity. The preparation method of the cryogel from an aqueous solution in freezing conditions is a process that combines the crystallization of the solvent with the copolymerization of monomers. This work is focused on the increase of specific surface area of the silica cryogel. The silica cryogel was synthesized via sol ? gel process and after that the vacuum freeze drying - lyophilisation was used. In the next step wasused dialysis to improve of surface area. The specific surface area was measured before and after dialysis. The obtained results from BET analysis confirmed the positive effect of dialysis on the surface area increasing.
