Bacterial Cellulose Based Nanobiocomposites for Biomedical Applications

  • Original language description

Bacterial cellulose (BC) based nanobiocomposites have a wide spectrum field or applicalions which are considered as high-strength materials, plant biomimicking materials, biomedical materials, electrically conductivc materials, catalytic .rnaterials, optical materials, luminescent materials, proton conductive materials. separating materials, antimicrobial materials, tbermo-responsive materials and so on. ln short. application of BC and BC based nanocomposites can be varied from the preparation of circuit boards to tennis racket or from automobile panels to building scaffolds. BC is a unique nanoflbrous biopolymer. having excellent mechanical properlícs, strong biocompatihility including environmental biodegradability. BC possesses small fibre diameter(40-70 nanometer), resulting in high surface area and highly porous structure, moreover BC membranes have high water holding capacity and flexible to be engineered. Through a lot of work has been done on BC based nanocomposites/ nanobioco
