Ferrous oxalate micro-rods as a promising material for electrorheology
Original language description
The broadening application field of the electrorheological fluids still requires a development of novel electro-responsive materials. Recently, we have shown that the additon of either non-magnetic ferrous oxalate dihydrate particles or their thermally-decomposed magnetic iron oxide analogs can be used as an effective approach to enhance performance and sedimentation stability of the magnetorheological suspensions. In this contribution, we further report on the ferrous oxalate that represents the electrically-polarizable material, which after disperising in an insulating oil constitutes the electro-responsive systems.
