Enhancement of natural photosensitizer riboflavin phototoxicity by loading in chitosan based nanoparticles for application in photodynamic therapy
Original language description
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an effective treatment for human premalignant and malignant lesions because it is non-invasive, well tolerated by patients and can be performed repeatedly without cumulative side effects. The presented work report the development of chitosan-based nanoparticles for encapsulation, protection and controlled delivery of riboflavin with the aim to enhance its phototoxicity in photodynamic therapy.
