3D printed magnetically sensitive scaffold based on hyaluronic acid
Original language description
The concept of this work is the development and fabrication of the scaffold with stimuliresposnive capabilities. This scaffold provides excellent biocompatibility due to its biopolymer nature based on hyaluronic acid (HA). ln addition, a filler, carbonyl iron powder (CIP) as a part of the hydrogel shows beneficial functionality enabling the scaffold to be sensitive to external magnetic field. This ability provides a possibility to deform and change the geometry of 3D printed scaffold. Based on the literature review [1], above mentioned properties allow inserted stem cells to successfully grow and transform into muscle tissue in the dependence on motion in magnetic field. This technology can lead to tissue fabrication in laboratory environment and can be beneficial also in drug delivery testing, organ transplantation and genetic experiments.
