Selectively oxidized hyaluronan conjugates grafted with thennoresponsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) are prepared as carriers for the anticancer drug phenanthriplatin (PhPt). Loaded conjugates soluble at laboratory temperature self-assemble into stable nanogels at body temperature. Nanogels not only reduce the release of PhPt compared to the nonthennoresponsive reference but also greatly enhance its potency compared to the free PhPt, particularly against cisplatinresistant ovarian cancer cell line (up to 18 times). Prepared nanogels thus show significant potential in cancer therapy.
