In the article, the authors verified the hypotheses regarding the relationship between interpersonal trust and costs of negotiation as well as inter-organizational trust and negotiation costs. With the help of a created linear regressive model and calculated Spearman's rank correlation, it was discovered that a negative relationship exists between the costs of negotiation and inter-organizational trust as well as between negotiating costs and interpersonal trust. The Cronbach's alpha reliability value was higher than 0.871 for all variables. This article is a part of the results of the project no. 402/09/2057 ?Measurement and management of the intangible assets impact on enterprise performance?, financed by Czech Science Foundation. This article was also written with support from an internal grant from the College of Polytechnics in Jihlava with the working name ?Effect of trust, reputation and other intangible assets on a company's performance?.
