Alternative non-profit funding methods: crownfunding in the Czech Republic and Slovakia
Original language description
The paper presents a view of the crowdfunding phenomenon in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, identifying factors that determine the success of non-profits on crowdfunding platforms operating in two (post-) Communist CEE countries in terms of the two-sided market theory. The main finding is that the status of a project creator does not significantly affect the probability of project overfunding, which implies that the projects created by non-profits do not have a higher likelihood of being overfunded, though this may differ between the studied countries. The resulting project is in accordance with the Science and Research Concept of the National Museum of Agriculture, and more specifically, Research Intent I., activity no. 2 – title: Research in museology.
