Original language description
This paper deals with Asian tourists’ preferences when visiting the Czech Republic, specifically the favourite and famous city Český Krumlov (for purposes of this paper, it is called study area). In recent years, Český Krumlov has become a popular destination for Asian tourists. Therefore, this paper focuses on identification of main motivational factors of Asian travelling tourists in the study area. In order to get relevant data, a mix of methods was used: questionnaires for tourists and qualitative semi-structured interviews with managers of accommodation facilities and employees of tourism attractions. It was found out Asian tourists are interested in history of the visited region and like active participation in programmes in their holiday destination. On the other hand it can be said, Asian tourists are not motivated by natural attractions and they do not seek out sports activities and attractions connected with adventure.
