Anotace anglicky
Vyšehrad constituted a prominent political centre of the early Czech state in the 11th and 12th centuries, with a significance comparable to that of Prague Castle. The present project is concerned with the hitherto only little studied issue of the earliest evolution of Vyšehrad. It is based on two groups of archaeological data obtained only recently: on the find of the relics of a monumental pre-Romanesque triconch, quite an unprecedented structure in the Czech milieu, and on the remains of a workshop for manufacture of gold, silver and other non-ferrous metals inside the acropolis. Both these finds fall within the first century of the existence of the hillfort (second half of the 10th and first half of the 11th century). The extraordinariness of both finds requires their thorough evaluation and interpretation as well as contextualisation within the political, architectonic and economic developmental processes in the territory of the early Přemyslid state and Central Europe in the 10th–11th centuries.
