New primary standards and traceability for radiometry
Annotation in Czech
The progress in optical technologies requires improved metrological methods and standards for a wide range of areas from lighting and radiation temperature to environmental monitoring. This JRP proposes a new and advanced means of realising the unit of optical power and other derived SI units, especially in the visible range, and a simplified traceability to the end-user through more practical and cost efficient techniques. This will be achieved by an optimised realisation of the primary standard for radiometry in the visible range with a 1 ppm uncertainty and by developing new techniques for providing traceability with an uncertainty below 100 ppm by accurately characterised filter radiometers for photometry and radiation thermometry. The best uncertainties of radiometric measurements reported so far are around 30 ppm for specific applications. In addition, traceability well below 1000 ppm uncertainty will be provided for fibre optics.
