Non-conventional voltage and current sensors for future power grids
Project goals
The JRP aims to extend the accuracy of these technologies and to facilitate their wider acceptance. WP1 will design, manufacture and characterise a next generation precision current sensor based on the optical Faraday effect. WP2 will study the technological limits of selected non-optical voltage and current sensor technologies. WP3 will develop methods for testing and calibration of non-conventional voltage and current sensors. WP4 is designed to maximise the impact for the JRP by creating links to industrial stakeholders and facilitating the uptake of the JRP’s outputs. WP5 covers the management of the JRP.
