    Homological and model-theoretic methods in algebra and geometry

    The project focuses on the study of geometric objects of infinite-dimensional nature (formal schemes and ind-schemes) and abstracting the structural results and symmetries discovered to much more broadly applicable homological methods of infinite tilting theory. We also aim at systematically understanding the interaction between our homological algebra and mathematical logic, and especially the influence of the properties of the ambient set-theoretic universe. Finally, we plan to apply these novel methods to understand the internal structure (in terms of classification of subcategories) and the symmetries of classes of important triangulated categories in representation theory and algebraic geometry. Last but not least, the project aims at enhancing long-term and fruitful collaboration with several algebra centers both in and outside Europe, and at contributing to graduate education at MFF UK by opening modern interdisciplinary research directions to doctoral students.
