The Laboratory at the Institute for the Research and Study of Authorial Acting
Project goals
The current mass-medialization and theatricalization of public life points to the pressing need to explore and study the role of acting as an aesthetic phenomenon which affects and is affected by the development of dramatic culture in society. The Institute for the Research and Study of Authorial Acting was established as part of the Academy of Performing Arts, Theater Conservatory to address these issues. Currently, the Instituťs scholarly mission is to explore and research the above issues and to continue to develop practices and individuals that respond to them. Typically, artistic fields, acting in particular, are judged difficult to research using scholarly methods. The Department of Authorship and Pedagogy confronts this misconception by workingwith a research methodology that documents and analyzes all research in a scholarly fashion. Our approach progressively opens and explores the conception of authorial acting and develops ways in which results can by applied to acting as an art

Laboratoř Ústavu pro výzkum a studium autorského herectví
