Project name in Czech
Vztahy mezi úrovní ploidie, velikostí genomu a buněk u modelových polyploidních ryb s cytologickými a fyziologickými dopady na jejich ochranu a chov.
Annotation in Czech
Velikost genomu ryb pozitivně koreluje s velikostí buněk, buněčných jader i s jejich objemy. Zvětšení velikosti genomu posunem úrovně ploidie tyto korelace kauzativně ovlivňuje a tento jev přetrvává jak u starých polyploidních rodů, tak i u neopolyploidů.

Project results evaluation
Higher ploidy levels arise directly by hybridization between some fish species. Autotriploidization by retention of the 2nd polar body in meiosis II was also described. Combination of microsatelite and mtDNA markers can be used to monitor hybridization of some species in nature. Topics of the project were solved in 7 theses. Several papers have been published in journals with a relatively low IF.
