Design Novel Metal-Phenolic Nanocomposite Carriers for Pancreatic Cancer Therapy
Annotation in Czech
The mechanical properties of cancer are critical drivers of disease progression and treatment resistance. In pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), mechanical cues from the tumor microenvironment strongly influence progression and therapeutic response. Mechanotherapy, which exploits these properties to enhance chemotherapy delivery, presents a promising approach. However, targeting specific mechanical properties remains a challenge. Nanomedicine offers a potential solution, yet a key gap persists: how do nanoparticles (NPs) interact with the biological environment under physiologically relevant conditions? Most NP-cell interaction studies have been conducted on non-physiological surfaces like glass or plastic, leading to misinterpretations that impact NP design. This project seeks to redefine these interactions by investigating the interplay between cancer mechanobiology and NPs, paving the way for more effective and personalized therapies.
