Barley Protection against Mykotoxins Producing Fytopathogenic Fungi of Fusarium spp. as the Way of Increase the Quality and Stability of Malt and Beer

Project goals

Fusarium head blight causes severe yield and quality losses, but the most serious concern is the possible mycotoxin contamination of cereal food and feed. A lot of malting barley cultivars are susceptible to Fusarium spp. infection. These pathogens not, tonly reduce the final yield but also increase the risk of malt contamination with mykotoxins. The toxins can influence the stability of beer as well as increase the risk for human health. We will assessed the resistance sources of barley to Fusarium he,ad blight and evaluate the effects of genotype, pathogen isolate, chemical treatment and enviromental conditions on accumulation of mycotoxins in grain. Genetic, molecular, phytopathological and agrotechnical approaches will be used.,

Ochrana ječmene proti mykotoxickým fytopatogenním houbám rodu Fusarium spp. Jako cesta zvýšení kvality a stability sladu a piva

  • Annotation in Czech

V projektu budou hodnoceny zdroje odolnosti ječmene k napadení fuzárii, sledovány vlivy genotypu, isolátu patogena, che, mické ochraqny a prostředí na akumulaci mykotoxinů v zrně. Genetické, molekulární, fytopatologické a agrotechnické přístupy budou využity.,
