Mutual Exchange and Evaluation of Wheat Genetic Resources Aimed at Tolerance to Abiotic Stresses Incident in the Czech Republic and China.

Project goals

Screening of genetic resources and consequent research and choice of donors of tolerance to abiotic stresses (salt and drought tolerance)and quality of grain in winter wheat, spring barley and oat. Characterization and evaluation of genetic resources from China and CR. There will be carried out also choice of these donors.

    Seeds of winter wheat, spring barley and oat were obtained from sources of Polytechnical Institute in Dong Ying. Perspective sources of resistance to drought and good baking quality have been selected on the basis of testing in field conditions and laboratory analyzes of quality parameters. The samples of genetic resources will be incorporated into crop collections of Gene bank of CRI.
