Development of the new biotechnological systems for maintanance and improvment of agriculture crop and forest tree biodiversitsy

Project goals

The aim of the project is to create and validate new biotechnological systems measures which will enable the conservation and development of biodiversity of field, garden and industrial crops, grasslands, orchards and forest tree species. New systems of biotechnological methods will be based on knowledge of the thermodynamic properties of plant organs and will focus on the creation of new, innovative practices for biodiversity conservation of vegetatively propagated agricultural crops and forest tree species in conditions of ultra-low temperature. The newly developed procedures will be used for the preservation of the biodiversity of agricultural crops in the framework of the National Programme of Conservation and Use of Plant Genetic Resources and Agro-biodiversity, and for the cryopreservation of forest tree species in the framework of the National Programme of Protection and Reproduction of Forest Tree Species gene pool.

    Vyřešit komplexně problematiku bezpečného uchování vegetativně množených rostlin v ultranízkých teplotách. Vyvinout nové efektivní biotechnologické metody pro kryokonzervaci významných vegetativně množených plodin a lesních dřevin v ČR. Vyvinout metody sloužící k uchování vybraných položek v Národní bance explantátů lesních dřevin a České kryobance plodin, včetně zabezpečení kolekcí prostřednictvím „safe duplicate“ i pro uznání European Accession. Získané poznatky budou sloužit jako podklady pro rozhodovací procesy odborných útvarů MZE na úrovni závazných předpisů nelegislativní povahy a pro tvorbu strategických a koncepčních dokumentů odborů.
