The use of progressive biotechnologic methods at breeding of oilseed poppy

Project goals

The main aim of the project is the optimization of opium poppy breeding techniques by means of modern methods. Genetic resources will be characterized through analytical and descriptive methods, including field trials and molecular genetic methods. Molecular markering techniques will be developed and established. The application and optimization of in vitro cultivation and regeneration procedures will markedly shorten and streamline opium poppy breeding processes via the production of fully homozygous lines.

    Využití progresivních biotechnologických metod ve šlechtění máku setého

    Cílem projektu je zefektivnit šlechtitelské postupy u máku za použití progresivních biotechnologických metod - in vitro kultivace a molekulárních metod. Molekulární metody budou využity při charakterizaci a výběru genetických zdrojů máku, bude sestavenacore colection na základě genetického mapovaní. In vitro kultivace bude využita k rychlému genetickému ustálení linií po křížení vybraných perspektivních genotypů, což povede k výraznému zkrácení času potřebného ke stabilizaci znaků získaných linií a zároveň bude dosaženo 100 % homozygotnosti, která je běžnými šlechtitelskými postupy nedosažitelná. Genotypy získané těmito progresivními biotechnologickými postupy budou testovány v polních podmínkách s cílem výběru těch nejkvalitnějších. Ty pak budou přihlášeny do státního registračního řízení za účelem registrace nových odrůd máku nebo budou využity k další šlechtitelské práci.
