Original language description

Activation of beta cell proliferation is a promising approach for beta cell replacement therapy.Given the fact that majority of beta cells are locked non-proliferative quiescent state, their cellcycle has not yet been investigated in detail. In this study, we aimed to clarify the cell cyclekinetics of replicating rat beta cells in vitro using flow cytometry (FC) assays. We analyzed thecell cycle kinetics in terms of lengths of individual cell cycle phases and typical markers foreach phase.
