First occurrence of fire blight in the Czech Republic was detected in 1986 and now the disease is found throughout the area. The epidemic of fire blight has not been detected up to now. The program of testing by artificial inoculation has been started for as good as possible knowledge about level relative resistance of pomefruit genotypes. The pear and apple genotypes comparing with commercially grown varieties as standards were tested for their relative susceptibility level to fire blight after artificial inoculation in the climatic conditions of the Czech Republic. Calculated intensity of infection was transferred to 6 point evaluation scale. Most of testing genotypes were categorized as moderately susceptible, susceptible or highly susceptible.
