Original language description
A complex profile of the Wheat streak mosaic virus (WSMV) has been described. WSMV incidence has an increasing tendency in winter wheat in the Czech Republic. The new knowledge of the WSMV that include the cycle of the disease, the transmission of the virus, the diagnosis and the genetic diversity including the identification of the recombination of the genome sequence of the virus and phylogeny, the resistance of the cereals to this pathogen and the effective protection of the cereals against WSMV have been discussed.
