Selection of microsatellite loci suitable for oat variety identification
Original language description
Identification of varieties for the needs of seed companies, breeding stations and variety testing is a general problem. There are currently many methods that lead to an understanding of the differences between varieties. One of these methods is microsatellite analysis based on the detection of repetitive DNA loci that are more easily mutated. The aim of the research was selection of effective number of microsatellite loci for 140 oat varieties differentiation. A total of 51 microsatellite loci with a total of 255 alleles were detected by applying 42 markers to 140 oat genotypes. The average number of alleles per locus was 5.0. Fourteen loci were monomorphic. Based on results a file of 10 microsatellite loci with high level of polymorphic indices were selected. Using this file, all 140 oat varieties should be distinguished. Allele composition of each oat variety can serve as its unambiguous identification.
