The average daily gains of Czech Pied bulls (dual-purpose, Simmental type) were analyzed using single-trait animal models, a multi-trait animal model and random regression models. The herd-year-season classes (HYS) were created and season was defined as3-month class starting with December. Legendre polynomials were used to describe daily gains within the HYS classes and to model bull-specific gain curves. The results showed that polynomials of at least the 2nd degree are to be used for the genetic analysis of daily gains.

Odhad genetických parametrů pro denní přírůstky býků pomocí víceznakového modelu a modelu s náhodnou regresí
Czech description
Průměrné denní přírůstky býků českého strakatého skotu (kombinovaná užitkovost, typ simentálský) byly analyzovány pomocí víceznakového a jednoznakových individuálních modelů jedince a modelů náhodné regrese. Byly vytvořeny třídy stádo-rok-období (HYS), sezóna pak byla definovaná jako 3 měsíční období s počátkem v prosinci. Pro charakteristiku denních přírůstků v rámci tříd HYS a pro modelování růstových křivek jednotlivých býků bylo použito Legendrových polynomů. Výsledky ukázaly, že pro genetickou analýzu denních přírůstků je třeba používat polynomů nejméně 2. stupně.
