The influence of body surface hygiene scores on sheep milk quality
Original language description
The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the cleanness of the body surface and sheep milk quality. Cleanliness of the body surface ewes was evaluated before milking. After milking the individual milk samples were collected for thedetermination of selected microbiological parameters. Based on the obtained values it is obvious that the body surface hygiene score fully corresponded with the total bacteria count and the number of coliforms in raw milk. The breed of sheep will have its role to the cleanness of the body surface, due to the different in wool cover on limbs and abdomen.
