Population structure of Listeria monocytogenes isolated from human listeriosis cases and from ready-to-eat foods in the Czech Republic

  • Original language description

The study dealt with population structure of Listeria monocytogenes strains originated from human listeriosis cases and from ready-to eat (RTE) food in the Czech Republic in 2013 – 2016. L. monocytogenes isolates were characterized using serotyping and Multi-Locus Sequence Typing. In total two evolutionary lineages, four serotypes and 32 sequence types were detected with 16 sequence types the presence of which in RTE foods can pose an increased risk of illness for consumers in the Czech Republic.
