Supporting the European Food Industry to Meet Nutrient Labelling Regulations
Original language description
In the European Union (EU), mandatory nutrition labelling is regulated by Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011. Food business operators must undertake measures to implement mandatory and voluntary particulars of nutrient labelling in order to comply with the legislation. Information supporting the European food industry, large and small, in implementation and understanding of nutrition labelling is therefore essential, and a summary of formats and approaches in the EU, and at some national levels, is presented.
