  • Original language description

Our results provide deeper insight into pSCC biology as they corroborate those published by Elst et al in a large retrospective cohort showing utility in routine praxis. We confirmed mutated TP53 as a key marker of poor prognosis in pSCC owing to its association with EMT, which is detectable histopathologically as tumor budding. Thus, we propose use of these markers in routine pSCC diagnostics.
