CD38 expression on CD8+ T cells in humans immunodeficiency virus 1-positive adults treated with HAART
Original language description
The therapy of HIV-1 with HAART is effective in reducing HIV-1 viral load, achieving a stable CD4 count and percentage of CD8/CD38 cells. In our study, the percentage of CD8/CD38 cells on baseline was significantly higher than those in control subjects, and the percentage of CD38 correlated negatively with CD4 count. Thus, this parameter can serve as a clinical marker of HIV-1 infection.
