Nuchal translucency (NT) represents the accumulation of subcutaneous fluid behind the fetal neck thatcould be visualised and measured in the last third of the first trimester of pregnancy. NT has become a wellestablished part of first-trimester screeningstrategies and represents the most highly discriminating marker of fetal Down syndrome and other major aneuploidies by far.
