Chromosomal damage in peripheral blood lymphocytes of newly diagnosed cancer patients and healthy controls
Original language description
Chromosomal damage in peripheral blood lymphocytes in a group of 300 incident cancer patients (with different malignancies) was compared with 300 healthy controls. The frequencies of aberrant cells and aberrations were significantly higher in patients ascompared with controls. The difference in chromatid-type aberrations between patients and controls was moderately significant, whereas the difference in chromosome-type aberrations was stronger.
