Buildings made from sugar belonged among popular decorations of aristocratic banquet tables since the end of the late Middle Ages.This demonstration of the luxury and social status of those whose tables they adorned was also a work of art, often designed byacclaimed architects and executed by skilled confectioners trained for such occasions. The aim of this article is to present sugar asa building material.
