The paper presents some basic data about the Czech labour market from gender perspective. It documents that women are routinelly discriminated against and their situation has progresivelly worsened over the last decade. It also argues that existing institutional structure erected to combat discrimination of women on the labour market in the Czech Republic is not conducive to an effective promotion of equal opportunities.
