Original language description
The article deals with the problem of gender discrimination which is a cause of gender pay gap meaning that women are less remunerated than men for the same work done in the same quality. The article shortly presents four economic models explaining gender discrimination in labour market ? monopsonistic discrimination, Becker?s taste-for discrimination model, statistical discrimination and crowding model. It also shows gender discrimination in labour market in the Czech Republic on ordinarily available data from the Czech Statistical Office.
