Three-Dimensional Time and One-Dimensional Space: A Basic Reformulation of Physical Reality
Original language description
This paper proposes a radical reformulation of spacetime structure, positing that reality consists basically of one spatial dimension and three temporal dimensions, with our perceived three-dimensional space evolving as a projection from this underlying structure. We show mathematically how this "(1 + 3)-dimensional" structure generates the apparent "(3 + 1)-dimensional" reality we experience, while providing more explanations for numerous physical phenomena. The structure unifies electromagnetic and gravitational interactions through temporal curvature, explains quantum behavior through temporal interference patterns, and resolves longstanding theoretical inconsistencies in quantum gravity. We derive the mapping functions between the basic and evolved dimensions, showing how the three spatial dimensions we observe may arise from the underlying temporal manifold. This approach yields specific testable predictions distinguishing it from standard models, including: characteristic energy-dependent Lorentz violations in high-energy particle interactions (ΔL ~ E/10(19) GeV)(2) x (1 + ζ sin(2) θ(T)); quadratic momentum-dependent gravitational wave dispersion relations (ω(2) = k(2)[1 + ε(k/kP)(2)]) measurable with next-generation detectors; distinctive energy-dependent neutrino oscillation patterns at high energies; dark energy evolution equations (w(z) = -1 + 0.03z/(1+z)) testable with upcoming cosmological surveys and a novel derivation of Unruh radiation from temporal geommetry without requiring quantum field theory. These specific experimental signatures provide multiple avenues to validate this alternative dimensional structure.
