The Hierarchical Influence of Physical Education Teachers and Parents on Children's Motivation for Physical Activity
Original language description
This research investigates the relative influence of parents and physical education (PE) teachers on the motivational structure for physical activity among lower secondary school pupils in selected Prague primary schools. The study aimed to determine the perceived significance of parental and teacher personalities as motivational factors for pupil engagement in physical activity. A non-standardized questionnaire was administered to the pupils, followed by data analysis and synthesis. The results indicate that parents hold a more dominant position than PE teachers in shaping the pupils' motivational structure for physical activity. PE teachers were not perceived as a significant motivational element within this hierarchy.
