DEOXYSCHIZANDRIN AND GAMMA-SCHIZANDRIN RESTORE THE CYTOTOXIC ACTION OF DOXORUBICIN IN MULTI-DRUG RESISTANT LUNG CANCER CELLS COR-L23/R

  • Original language description

We found that the lignans R-(+)-deoxyschizandrin and R,S-gamma-schizandrin restored the cytotoxic action of the MRP1 substrate doxorubicin to COR-L23/R cells at relatively non-toxic concentrations of the lignans. Deoxyschizandrin and gamma-schizandrin also showed the greatest propensity to enhance the accumulation of doxorubicin in drug resistant cells.
