    Laboratory course of Environmental processes.

  • Original language description

The study of environmental processes is one of the most exciting areas of modern science. The ability to predict the behavior of a chemical substance in the environment and in biological systems largely depends on the knowledge of its physico-chemical properties and reactivity. Basic properties of persistent organic pollutants, distribution processes in environment, transport within and among compartments, and biotic and abiotic transformation processes have to be considered in order to predict their fate in the environment. Laboratory simulation of the processes that control chemical behaviour of organic compounds in environment is often needed for better understanding, and for determination of basic characteristics required for successful environmental modeling. However, laboratory courses providing M.S. students with experience in necessary techniques are still very rare. Aim of this project was to prepare a new practical course for M.S. students in environmental chemistry. Laborato
