Karyotype evolution in n=7 species from different tribes of the mustard family (Brassicaceae)
Original language description
Comparative chromosome painting with Arabidopsis painting probes arranged according to the 24 ancestral chromosomal blocks was used (i) to explore the extent of shared chromosome colinearity between analyzed n=7 species and the n=8 AK karyotype, (ii) toget insight into mechanisms of chromosome number reduction (from n=8 to n=7) across the Brassicaceae, and (iii) to assess the evolutionary significance of karyotype alterations within the molecular phylogenetic framework.
