Plant response to fluoranthene visualised by imaging of chlorophyll fluorescence
Original language description
The effect of increasing concentration (0.1, 1 and 5 mg/L) of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) fluoranthene (FLT) on spatial distribution of chlorophyll (Chl) fluorescence parameters (F0, FV/FM, PhiII) in pea plants was investigated by imaging of Chl fluorescence after 21 days of cultivation in vitro. Murashige-Skoog (MS) medium was enriched with growth regulators 0.1 mg/L indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) or combination of IAA and 0.1 mg/L N6-benzylaminopurine (BA). False colour image of FV/FM and PhiIIdistribution showed, that maximum values were located on shoots bases. Minimum values were located in tendrils. The obtained results demonstrated that the highest applied concentration of FLT caused significant increase of F0 and decrease of FV/FM and PhiII.
