Effects of sigma ligands BD737 and haloperidol on isolated rat hearts
Original language description
Sigma receptors are known to modulate cardiac contractility in isolated cardiomyocytes. The effects of highly specific sigma receptor ligands BD737 and haloperidol were tested in isolated rat hearts. Previously described arrhythmogenic effects of sigma ligands in cardiac myocytes were confirmed in isolated rat hearts perfused according to Langendorff. The putative inotropic effect of the drugs remains controversial.
