    Force Interpolation on Triangulated Surfaces

  • Original language description

Article deals with haptic exploration based on scanning of virtual surfaces by finger using force feedback. To achieve smooth haptical rendering of approximated surfaces several force computation algorithms were designed. These algorithms use the similarprinciples as smooth color interpolation. Problems of force interpolation related to triangulated surface are explained. The conventional algorithm with proxy point is compared to virtual finger approach. The warping algorithm and WED algorithm is designed to interpolate the contact force smoothly over the set of adjacent triangles.
