Students with Asperger Syndrome in the Czech Republic
Original language description
This paper focuses on Asperger syndrome. It presents data fro the research studies. Students with this diagnosis are also students with special educational needs and need support at schools. Their intelligence level is in the average range, so they should be educated in mainstream schools although it might not always be easy. The process of integration/inclusion depends on many factors such as student?s and parents? wishes, possibilities of schools, counselling services, etc. The social skills of thesestudents are often weak and may cause difficulties in educational settings. Many teachers are not sufficiently prepared to meet the special needs of these students.
