School-related stress by intelectually gifted adolescent
Original language description
This work focuses on the occurrence of stress at school and the response to school stress among intellectually gifted pupils at select grammar schools in comparison to their average contemporaries. Although many teachers and parents believe that intellectually gifted pupils cannot feel stress in view of their talent, the truth is that intellectually gifted pupils feel school stress just like their average contemporaries. The greatest differences are seen in their response to this stress, in the stressors that cause this stress, and in the way they manage school stress. A research study conducted at the turn of 2010 and 2011 discovered how intellectually gifted pupils at prestigious grammar schools in Brno react to school stress, how school stress influences their performance at school, and what stressors occur most frequently in connection with the school environment. The results attained by intellectually gifted pupils were compared with those attained by average students of the same
