Concepts of open innovation and absorptive capacity are based on the use of purposive inflows and outflows of knowledge in order to accelerate internal innovation. To assure the innovative spirit in sports organizations the implementation of the human resources recruitment policy based on these concepts is needed. Therefore, this article investigates using the Atlas.ti software and coding techniques, to what extent the various sports organizations in Australia and New Zealand seek in their recruitmentsthe human resources equipped with sensitivity, skills or predispositions towards the innovations and how these requirements are formulated in relation to the different management job positions
